BMW 8HP used transmission replacement programming

The newer BMW E series and F series vehicles equipped with the ZF 6 speed and 8 speed automatic transmissions are now equipped with a new generation of EWS4 anti-theft protocol. This means the transmission mechatronic is permanently synchronized with the CAS or FEM module.

This prevents the transmission from being used in a different vehicle. After installation, such transmission will be stuck in Park since the anti-theft codes do not match. Until now, the only options where to buy a new virgin transmission from BMW or to part-out the car.

NOTES :

1. For this service, you have to mail-in or drop off the replacement EGS module, the FEM/CAS/BDC modules and a working key.
2. For vehicles with DCT (dual clutch) transmission, we will need the original defective mechatronic as well.

DO NOT MAIL COMPLETE MECHATRONIC UNITS. THEY ARE FRAGILE AND SHOULD NOT BE MAILED, THE OIL WILL ALSO ATTRACK DEBRIS AND DUST . ONLY MAIL THE ELECTRICAL CONTROL UNIT.

Upon checking out you will receive the instructions to ship the parts to our repair workshop.
Return shipping is billed at the same moment. You are responsible for mailing the parts to us. Local customers can also elect to deposit and pickup their repaired parts once the repairs are complete, just select ‘’Bimmerpro pickup in store’’ as the shipping method.
