How to pack and prepare to ship modules to BimmerPro for repairs

After checking out for a replacement service, time is now to prepare your modules to be shipped to us.

Electrical modules need proper packaging to ensure they reach us in proper condition :

-We suggest you cover any plug with masking tape to prevent damage to pins.

-The module should be wrapped in an ESD safe bag. This prevent damage from static electricity as the box is handled.

-The modules should be wrapped in bubble wrap or similar packing material to protect the units from bump and falls

-When including keys, always make sure to zip-ties them or tape them to a module, so they do not escape the box should it get damaged during transit

-A thick corrugated boxe should be used, never mail modules in the plastic bags shipping courriers supply alone. If you want to keep the old units, make sure to mind the extra space needed for their returns.

-Place a copy of your order within the packaging, and identify the exterior of the box with your order number on at least 2 sides.

For international packages, make sure to properly fill the customs declaration. Defectives modules sent in for repairs should be marked as such, and the commercial values of the defective parts is recommended to be set at 10$ per unit. The whole package should be declared as a temporary import using good Tariff Item No. 9993.00.00 whenever possible.
In the event the customs forms are not filled properly, this could cause delays thru customs, and incur additionnal fees.
